Artist Statement

The sources that inspire my work range from the experience of place, to the insight of mythic traditions, to my love of nature and natural forms. I use the elements of shape and color as the foremost means of translating my perception of the stillness, the mystery, and the beauty of these sensations into a visual expression. I work abstractly to avoid creating specifics of place, time, object or person. I like my work to leave an imprint of the physical and the actual without the reference of a local identity.
